Sweden, Sweden, Sweden! (Some Math and Social Studies, too!)

This week (as the coming two will be) was all things Sweden!  We've been reading Swedish tales, we baked Swedish cookies, enjoyed a Swedish smorgasbord, and learned all about the country of Sweden with a wonderful slideshow presentation and rock troll activity led by Elsa's mom, Mia.  We learned some language including numbers and colors (and practiced by playing a game of Eye Spy), about the Swedish royal family, the geography, and nature of this beautiful country.
Big, big thanks, Ms Risberg!

More Math games, focusing on adding 10 and adding 100, very important skills in place value practice!

Map reading skills practicing with a map of our home town!

This week we (along with Mrs. Brennan's class) were visited by Mrs. Bullock's kindergartners and had an opportunity to hear their writing and give them constructive feedback!  The second graders stepped up and did a very nice job with this task.

Lilla celebrated her half birthday by sharing some sweet baby photos!
