Highlights: March 19 - 23rd

This week we observed our clover seeds sprouting!  A few did not have much luck, so we replanted new seeds on Friday and added some more soil. Hopefully they will have better luck at home over break!

This week we wrapped up our study of local history by asking Mrs. Freeman some questions about Angell's history, as she started teaching at Angell over 30 years ago!  Ask your child to tell you some of the things they discovered.

We ended our week with a sunny walk to Burns Park to observe strengths and areas of improvement.  We will continue this project after the break.

Enjoy the week with your children!

Highlights: March 5th - 16th

We would like to welcome Elsa to our classroom! Elsa attended Angell for first grade and then spent the first half of 2nd grade in Germany.  Welcome back, Elsa!

In Social Studies we have continued our exploration of our local community. The students researched in partnerships using the following websites:

In Math we have been working on data collection, and creating picture graphs and bar graphs using our data.

In Library with Ms. Postema the students have been creating spine labels. Ask your child to tell you more about this!

Many thanks to Lynly Williams, who organized some special activities and treats for a fun St. Patrick's Day celebration.  The children planted clover seeds, which compliments our Life Cycles unit perfectly. They are anxiously awaiting the arrival of sprouts! We also enjoyed some coin stacking and Irish stories.
