Martin Luther King Jr., Map Grids, Money and Sound!

We had a very full week!  We began learning about Sound with Mrs. Brennan.  The students learned the vocab words "sound" and "source".  Then then went on a "Sound Hunt" around the school to find sounds, their source, and describe them.  We also learned that vibrations make sound and did "Vibration Stations" to explore them.

This week we continued our map work by learning about grids. The children solved a fun map grid puzzle and then created grid puzzles of their own.

We are continuing to work with money and change and practiced with a game called "Spinning for Money".

This week we learned about the life of Martin Luther King Jr. through stories, conversation, and an all school assembly.  We looked at two eggs, one brown and one white, and talked about how they can serve as a symbol of people: although we may have different color skin, we are all the same on the inside.

Thanks to Grieta for sharing specials stories and treasures from her trip to Disney World!
