This week we wrapped up our poetry unit with limericks. We explored several poems of the classic poet, Edward Lear. The children loved the silly nature of these poems and the sing-song rhyme scheme they employ. Below are a few of Edward Lear's limericks, as well as a few written by the students. The children had a wonderful time sharing a few of their own limericks with each other as well! Poetry books will be coming home next week.
