On Friday we received our next round of letters from our Ann Arbor Open pen pals. In our first letters back and forth we introduced ourselves, told one another about our families, and a bit about school. In the second letters we focused more on specific things we are currently learning at school. Back and forth correspondence with a similarly aged peer group is a very powerful way to write with meaning for a specific audience.
We also continued our map work by exploring a map of Washtenaw County. The students compared and contrasted this with the map of downtown Ann Arbor, and looked for locations such as Metro Parks and Lakes.
