Field Day

The students had a fabulous time yesterday at Field Day! Big thanks to all the parents who were able to come out to help run stations.

We all had a wonderful week enjoying the class musical. I couldn't be prouder of this group of children! Many thanks to all of you for your support with practicing lines and putting together costumes!!

Equal Parts

In Math we have been working on finding equal parts of shapes. This improves skills in both fractions and multiplication. Sometimes each part looks the same, as in the first example, and sometimes we have to be a little more creative in finding equal parts!

Leslie Science Center

We had a great time at the Leslie Science Center on Friday. We learned about insect body parts, pollination, stages of an insect's life cycle, and observed many insects (and other creatures) close up.  Big thanks to Ben's mom, Dimitra's mom, Maria's mom, and Sammy's dad for joining us on this trip!

Welcome Munther!

Today we welcomed a new student, Munther, to our classroom.  The students have been happily showing him the routines and procedures.  Welcome to Angell, Munther!

Life Cycle of a Butterfly

For the past two weeks we have been enjoying our new class pet- baby caterpillars! Well, they arrived as babies but are quickly growing.  The students have been observing and recording their growth, and are eagerly anticipating their formation into chrysallis and butterflies!

Doing Our Part!

Last Friday we took advantage of the sunshine and walked to the park up the road to do a little clean-up.  In Social Studies we have been learning about how we can make a difference in our community, and this is one small way!
